Why this matters

When a story says back in 1998, three years later or the next morning, viewers can lose track of when they are. Time jump makes that moment visible. The shot under the playhead freezes on an old screen, the tape runs back or winds forward, and the year it lands on, or the narration's own words, appear on the same yellow box as the Yellow box text style. Then the card clears straight onto the next shot. When both years are known, the box counts from one to the other and stops on the year it lands on. Time jump reads English and Czech phrases, and it counts from the last year your narration mentioned, so three years later after 1931 lands on 1934. Auto can also place a time jump on every jump the script makes.

What changed

When your narration jumps in time, a new Time jump animation rewinds the shot like a tape and lands the year or the words on a yellow box.

How to use it

Park the playhead where the narration jumps in time, open the Animations window and choose the Time jump tab.
