Why this matters
When your narration names several people, Sketch reads who they are, what role the narration gives them, how they are tied and what happened to them. It pins up each person's photo, found automatically on Wikimedia Commons with its credit, and draws the lines as they are spoken: plain lines for people working together, double lines for family, and jagged red lines for enemies, with the narration's own words such as betrayed or married written on them. When the story says someone died or went to prison, their photo is crossed out or barred at that moment, with the year beside it. It works in English and Czech, in both video shapes, and Auto places these boards on its own.
What changed
Sketch can now turn a passage about people into a board of their real photos, joined by lines that say how they are connected.
How to use it
Open Sketch
In the Animations window, choose the Sketch tab on a cut whose narration names several people.
Build the board
Click Build board. The layout switches to Connections and the people appear as photo prints.
Check the faces
Select a person to search for a different photo with Find, upload your own, or use a silhouette.
Mark what happened
Under What happened, choose Died or Jailed and add the year if the narration gives one.
Adjust the ties
In Ties, choose who is connected, type the words on the line, and pick Together, Family or Against. Turn on Points when one person did something to the other.
Add it
Click Add animation to place the board on your timeline.
